 How 53rd Bank Has Held My $130,000 Hostage for Over 2 Years I never imagined I would have to write something like this. My name is Vaneva Ewell, and I am an elderly Black woman living in Michigan. But today, I write this blog post with a broken heart, a drained spirit, and $130,000 of frozen hope locked away by Fifth Third Bank (53rd Bank). It All Started on September 13, 2022 On that day, $130,000 was wired to my account at 53rd Bank from Metro Sales via Capital One, by my associate and family friend Amit Jain. The purpose, to start a small business that would give me financial stability in my later years. Instead, what followed was a nightmare.
